Elephant Obsessed.

So…it has become apparent to me that I have an unhealthy obsession with elephants. I love all animals, hence why I study Zoo Biology, but elephants are my all time favourite. Over the past few years, I have subconsciously built up a ridiculous collection of elephant-y things, so I thought I’d share a few of my favourites!

The beautiful ‘Fair Trade Elephant Globe’ has to be one of my all time favourite pieces. I was lucky enough to win this, from a company called Gifts For Animal Lovers. They have some stunning items and also donate a proportion of every sale to an animal charity, so definitely go check out their website!

The white, ceramic elephant was a gift from my parents, which they brought back from Puerto Rico. Unfortunately, I don’t know the store’s name, but there are apparently all the shops sell elephant items over there!

My boyfriend bought the adorable black and white elephant cushion, for our first christmas together, from (my favourite ever store) Evolution. They specialise in ethical  homeware and all of their products are so pretty!

The hand carved, wooden elephant was purchased from Amazona Zoo in Norfolk. I always try to purchase something from zoo shops, as zoos are all charities and do not get funding from the government. Zoo’s, although understandably controversial, play a huge part in conservation and without them, many species would not be around today.

The hand carved, wooden elephant family ornament was another gift from my boyfriend. This was also purchased from Evolution.

The bohemian-style, elephant wall hanging was actually purchased from a store on eBay. It is so well made, covers the entire wall and only cost around £10!

Now, I know that the first teddy is technically a woolly mammoth, but I couldn’t leave her out. Martha the mammoth was purchased in Brussels, from the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences. This museum is one of my favourite in the world and is definitely an amazing place to geek out. She is looking slightly worn now, because I sleep with her every night, but she is still the most amazing little teddy!

The other teddy, the grey elephant, is actually my hot water bottle, purchased from Amazon!

What Marth used to look like

Yet again, the cute felt wind chime was purchased from Evolution , I couldn’t resist buying it – even though I don’t have a garden.

My boyfriend bought the adorable elephant slippers from Monster Slippers, they are incredible and even make an elephant noise!

The pink elephant teddy, delirium stein and glass were purchased from an amazing bar in Belgium, called Delirium. My cute key ring was purchased from Twycross Zoo. I won the bracelet from an amazing shop called Wish Strings. The necklace was a christmas present from my mum!

I also love drawing and photographing elephants. Drawing is so therapeutic and working with animals, I often get the opportunity to snap amazing photos! I sell my art on my depop shop, Art by Jade, so please check it out!

Call me obsessed, but I even had an ellie tattooed on my ribs! This was done by a very talented tattooist called Filip Pasieka.

All the elephants.

I asked David, what it was like living with an elephant lover and he replied:

‘Birthdays are easy, christmas too, but you do have a bit of a problem’.

You are definitely elephant obsessed haha! I completely understand why though they really are beautiful animals. I love all your elephant ‘things’, I have the cutest elephant door stop which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it.
